Mahlkönig X54 Allround Home review (2026)

Mahlkönig X54 Allround Home is an electric grinder that suits Espresso, Moka pot, AeroPress, Pour-over and Filter machine. From €349 delivered to Lithuania, prices vary by country.
What are the pros and cons of the Mahlkönig X54 Allround Home?

- Reviewers find the grind even across nearly all settings, from espresso to AeroPress and pour-over.
- Reviewers find timed doses repeat to within about 0.2 g, which one calls the best seen from a timed grinder.

- Tests show 81.8 dB while grinding, well above the maker's claim of below 70 dB.
- A reviewer finds consistency drops at the finest and coarsest ends of the range, with clumping at the finest settings and a few bouldersBouldersBoulders are particles much larger than the grind size you aimed for.Lower is betterMore in the glossary at the coarsest.

€349 at Kavos draugas / Coffee Friend →What do owners say about the Mahlkönig X54 Allround Home?
- Silicone part in the grounds. One customer on a US shop's page says a silicone-like backflow preventer arrived bent and shed pieces into the grounds. A factory-fresh replacement followed after calls to the shop and the maker.
- Chaff with filter grinds. One customer who liked the packaging, build and low noise could not accept chaff covering the display, the area behind the spout and the counter when grinding for drip.
- Error E001 on early units. A reader under the Kaffeemacher test reports error E001 (hopper not fitted) when the hopper is lightly tapped. Another reader had the same fault, calls it a production defect and says the dealer's replacement worked.
- Retention worry. A reader under the Kaffeemacher test finds the retention too high for a single shot the next morning, because most of it would be old coffee.
- Satisfied owners. The reader who reported E001 still rates the grind result and the operation as very good after three months, having come from a Vario Home. A US shop customer praises the build and low noise.
